If you did not sign the return envelope or Oath of Voter form as required by California Election Code §3011, you will be mailed the Unsigned Ballot Statement form.

If you are not able to sign the envelope on your own, you can make a “mark” and have it witnessed by a person over the age of 18 for this election. Your witness’ name and signature should appear next to the mark and be noted as witness. For future elections, you can re-register to vote with your mark on file as your legal signature. If you are not able or willing to make a mark, you may re-register using a signature stamp.
Your signature on your Unsigned Ballot Statement must compare to your voter record. If you last registered to vote online or visited the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), the signature in your voter record is likely that found on your California ID Card or Driver’s License and therefore the signature that will be compared to the signature on your statement.
