Interactive Results Portal Provides User-Friendly Formats

(Redwood City, CA) San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division will begin posting election results for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election at smcvote.gov, select “Get Election Results,” starting at 8:10 p.m. on election night. 

Election Night Results Release Schedule:

  • 8:10 p.m.
    Results include Vote by Mail ballots received in the mail, at a Vote Center or in a Drop Box on or before Friday, March 1.
  • 9:00 p.m.
    Each hour until all Vote Center ballots have been reported.

The post-election day results will be released before 4:30 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Thursday, March 7
  • Monday, March 11
  • Wednesday, March 13
  • Friday, March 15
  • Monday, March 18
  • Wednesday, March 20
  • Friday, March 22

Other updates will be added if necessary. Results will be certified on April 4.

The Results Portal is an interactive reporting system that includes: 

  • Results reporting (user can filter by contest)   
  • Vote totals for each contest broken down by Vote Center and Vote by Mail
  • Voter Turnout (mapped by precinct)
  • Reports (in csv and pdf formats)

The Registration & Elections Division will send e-mail alerts to interested members of the public as new results are posted online on election night. Requests can be made online at smcvote.gov, select “Sign Up to Receive Election Night Result Notices by Email” under “March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election,” call or text 650.312.5222.

Early Voting Period Runs February 5 to March 4
In February, registered voters in San Mateo County were mailed their ballots. Official Ballot Drop Boxes are open. For more information on the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election, please call or text 650.312.5222, visit www.smcacre.gov, or follow us on Twitter and Instagram @smcvote.  

The Registration & Elections Division offers a toll-free hotline, 888.SMC.VOTE (888.762.8683), to assist voters in English, Spanish, Chinese and Filipino. Voter assistance is available in person at the San Mateo Election Division office or by phone from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with extended hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.
