Deadline Ensures Time for Postal Delivery

(Redwood City, CA) Mark Church, Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, announced today that Tuesday, July 16 is the final day registered voters may request a replacement Vote by Mail ballot be delivered by mail for the July 23, 2024 City of Millbrae Special Recall Election. The deadline ensures that there is enough time for postal delivery. After this date, all requests for a replacement Vote by Mail ballot must be made in person at the Registration & Elections Division, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo or the David J. Chetcuti Community Room, 450 Poplar Ave, Millbrae (opening July 20). As a Voter’s Choice Act (VCA) County, all registered voters in Millbrae City Council Districts 2 and 4 received a ballot in the mail starting June 24, 2024.

To Request a Replacement Vote by Mail Ballot
Registered voters may request a Vote by Mail ballot by using any of the following request options:

  • Submit your request online through the request form at smcvote.gov; or
  • An application is available to print from Request a Replacement Ballot link. Fill out and sign the Replacement Vote by Mail application and return it to us via email at registrar@smcacre.gov, fax (650.312.5348) or mail (40 Tower Road, San Mateo, CA 94402); or
  • Prepare a written request, with your signature, stating your full name, residence address, mailing address (if different from your residence address), date of birth, and the date of the election for which the Vote by Mail ballot is requested (July 23, 2024). Send the request via email to registrar@smcacre.gov, fax (650.312.5348) or mail (40 Tower Road, San Mateo, CA 94402).

To Request a Vote by Mail Ballot After the Deadline
All requests for a Vote by Mail ballot after July 16 must be made in person by the voter, or by their authorized representative (with the voter’s written request) at:

  • Registration & Elections Division, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo; or

  • David J. Chetcuti Community Room, 450 Poplar Avenue, Millbrae 94030 (opening July 20)

Returning Your Voted Ballot
You may mail in your voted ballot to the Registration & Elections Division. Official Ballot Drop Boxes are also available outside the Millbrae City Hall, 621 Magnolia St., Millbrae and the Registration & Elections Division, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo.

Voted Mail Ballot Deadline
To be accepted, voted ballots that are mailed must be postmarked on or before Election Day, July 23, 2024, and received no later than Tuesday, July 30, 2024.

Voting Period Began on June 24 and Ends on July 23
